Aspen Ladd's combat sport journey began when she was 14 years old. She was trained in boxing, kickboxing wrestling and BJJ before making her debut as an amateur at the age of 18 in WCFC against Jaimee Nievera. Ladd built on this victory and then went on to a three-fight win streak at Ultimate Reno Combat finishing her opponents within the first round in each fight. Aspen returned to WCFC in order to defeat Leslie Rodriguez through a unanimous verdict. Aspen defeated Silvia Babaeghian Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 before taking on Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia beat Aspen, and beat her with a unanimous decision. Cynthia's record as an amateur was damaged. Ladd beat Roma Pawelek on Tuff n Uff to improve her record for amateurs to 8-1. Aspen made her pro debut in the year 2015, when she signed with Invicta FC.
